Who we are (data fiduciary)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP), AstroSpeaks Pvt. Ltd. operating as Architects House (AHO) is the Data Fiduciary for the data we process through architects-house.com. Our contact for data matters is privacy@architects-house.com.
What we collect
For a design purchase: your name, email, phone, plot location (city + pin), plot dimensions, BHK count, family composition, payment information (handled by Razorpay; we do not store card numbers). For an architect application: B.Arch certificate, CoA registration, portfolio, references. For a session booking: customer identifiers + session metadata.
Why we collect it (purposes)
To deliver your design (Floor Plan + Renders + Budget). To assign an architect from our team. To bill you correctly and remit GST. To communicate with you about your order (email + WhatsApp). To verify architect credentials. To improve our designs based on aggregate usage patterns.
Lawful basis
We process your data based on your consent (given when you sign up + when you purchase), and contract necessity (we need it to deliver what you bought). Architects' data is processed based on contract necessity (employment-like arrangement).
Who we share with
Razorpay (payments) — necessary for payment processing. Firebase / Google Cloud (hosting + auth + storage) — necessary for the platform to function. The assigned architect (only the data they need to deliver your design). AstroSpeaks (the partner) — only when you purchase a DBYO Vastu design, AstroSpeaks reviews it; they receive design context but not your contact details. We do NOT sell your data to advertisers or marketing platforms.
How long we keep your data
Active customer data: as long as you have an active relationship with us, plus 7 years (statutory record-keeping for tax and contract law). Architect application data: as long as you're active on AHO, plus 3 years post-departure. Anonymous usage data may be retained indefinitely for design improvement.
Your rights (under DPDP)
You have the right to: access your data; correct inaccuracies; have your data erased (subject to legal retention requirements); withdraw consent at any time; nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity; raise a grievance with our Data Protection Officer (DPO).
How to exercise rights
Email privacy@architects-house.com with your request. We acknowledge within 48 hours and respond substantively within 30 days. For grievances, escalate to our DPO at dpo@architects-house.com. If unresolved, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
All data in transit is TLS 1.3 encrypted. Database encryption at rest. Access to customer data restricted to AHO staff who need it for their role. Audited quarterly. Architects only see customer data for orders assigned to them. Two-factor authentication required for staff access to production systems.
International transfers
Some processing happens on Google Cloud regions outside India (notably for image rendering). Where this occurs, we ensure equivalent protections are in place. AstroSpeaks is an India-based partner.
Children
AHO services are for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover such collection, we delete it immediately.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication, session management, and CSRF protection. We use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand site usage at aggregate level. No third-party advertising cookies. You can opt out of analytics in your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
Material changes are emailed to registered users 30 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Earlier versions are available on request.
